A Cold Land

Facciamo trovare in aula una carta del continente americano e por-

tiamo l’attenzione degli alunni sul Canada.

Avviamo un brainstorming su questo Paese e appuntiamo quanto

emerge, poi diamo le informazioni in figura n. 1.

Dopodiché, mostriamo immagini di alcuni elementi dei paesaggi
canadesi.

Canada is the second-largest country in the world; it is far to
the North of the American continent.

The capital city is Ottawa. Canada has very cold winters with
lots of snow and warm summers. The red maple leaf on the

Canadian flag is a symbol of Canada.
English is one of the two official languages, alongside French.
In the icy land of Northern Canada, near the Arctic, live the

Inuit people.
They call their territory Nunavut, that means “Our Land”.
Many kids in Canada love to play and watch ice hockey,

which is the most popular sport.
