A NICE AFTERNOON

Read the text and underline the verbs at Past Simple.

Yesterday, I went to the playground while my sister Sarah visited our grandma.

In the playground, I played with a girl called Jane. We attend the same

ballet class. We talked about ballet and how we love it. I showed her a ballet

movement. Jane was pleased and copied my steps.
Jane and I go to different schools. We compared them. Jane’s school is bigger

than mine. My school has a garden. Jane’s school has a big football pitch. In

Jane’s school, they play lots of sports. We both love our schools.

At half-past four, my mother arrived to pick me up. My mum asked us if we

wanted an ice cream. We enthusiastically answered: “Yes, we want it, please!”.

She bought two cones for us. Then, I said goodbye to Jane.

We went to grandma’s house to pick up my sister Sarah. She had fun with
grandma. They baked delicious biscuits for us. Sarah looked very happy to

see my mum and me and she hugged and kissed us. We had tea together and

shared the biscuits.
